How being aware of your senses help you feel alive after loss and grief.
Hi, I am Janet Jones, founder of Happiness Millionaire. I have recently started talking to a rock! This helps navigate the next chapter of my life, the chapter without my 22-year-old son, Murray. Join me with my musings about life, grief and loss with my rock, Sylvia-Rose. To learn why she is called Sylvia-Rose and how and why we met, I invite you to read my first blog - 'If Rocks Could Talk, meet Sylvia-Rose'. You could also register to have these bogs delivered to your email inbox. Check the tab in my bio.
Our chat on the 1st December 2021, discussing the benefits of keeping going, and feeling life on your skin for those who no longer can.
SR - Bravo! Bravo! You made it. I am clapping. I know you can’t see but in my rock/heart, I am clapping.
Jan - Thank you. That wasn’t easy. I have had all kinds of weather. It was sunny when I set off. It was so nice I put my laundry on the washing line.
- good to see your confidence coming back
Jan - then it started raining and the wind was blowing me over. It was amazing though.
SR - isn’t it? Just to feel all of that,
Jan - It is so special - it is a complete sensual experience.
SR - Sit for a while and take it in. The sound of the roaring sea, the fresh air smell. Can you hear those birds flying over?
Jan - I can. I can also taste the salt from the sea as I breathe.
- People are too busy ‘doing’ at the moment. I guess it makes you feel important. You are important. We all are but so is taking time out. This is living, Jan. This is living. Feel all of this for those who no longer can. Right now there are people close to their last breath and I know you know of someone. Sit in peace for a moment for them.
Jan - I do know of a very special woman who has been an inspiration to many and has raised millions £ for charity. She is now sitting with her loved ones and preparing for the journey of her life. I feel her in my soul.
- We all do, Jan. Outside of that which we occupy while we have this earthly experience, you in your body, me in my rock, we are all one source. Tap in to that and you will help her have a peaceful and loving transition.
Jan - You are so understanding. I am going to head back now and walk peacefully.
Jan - Walking feels so good for the soul. I have said many times you can walk yourself back to happiness.
- I would like to say I know what you mean
- Oh, yes, sorry.
I guess you are stuck where you are.
SR - I enjoy being here. Nothing is ever stuck. When the right wave comes in, it will be my turn to leave and I will get carried on my next journey.
Jan - not for a while, I hope.
SR - Me too. Remember, though, nothing is permanent. That is a conversation for another time. See you again soon.
